Because I love creating content...
Because I love to entertain...
And because I had a television producer reach out to me a year ago...
I have started filming for a new show at WrapAbility called "Wrap Stars".
Filming myself is kinda weird and is requiring some practice. I'm using a GoPro with a stand and stick attachment, along with a mount inside my truck. Been at it for 2 days and have hours of footage already. The next step is editing... Just got Adobe Premiere installed. Now to create time to do the editing! Probably at night while my wife is working so not to interrupt family time or work time.
The purpose of this show is document what we do and how we do it. Plus, Joey and I are fairly entertaining! Think of it kind of like American Choppers minus the whole family hating each other thing... I'll put the series on YouTube and use bits of the content for other platforms as well. Short clips for Instagram, longer ones for Facebook, articles and business talk for LinkedIn, and cool weird stuff for SnapChat and Twitter. Content, content, content.
I've always had the idea of my own show since back in my signage days (pretty much once I started working with Joey and realized how awesome we were). But this became even more apparent last year when a television producer reached out for a show they were looking to start based around wrap shops. I was one of about 6 shops selected, but do not currently have the steady flow of supercars to make the top shop for the pilot.
But I won't let a little rejection stop me.
I started my business so I could do things my way and not have anyone tell me what to do or what not to do. Therefore, if I want to create a show, I'm going to create a show!
I have a feeling the first several episodes will be pretty rough... But I'm totally cool with that. No one is great the first time they do something. It takes practice, patience, and perseverance.
All that matters is that I'm DOING.
I'm not sitting around, waiting for things to happen.
I'm making things happen.
I imagine my customers and potential clients will have a little hesitancy to being filmed at first, but I also think it will open up doors to companies looking to gain extra exposure.
Whatever happens, it should be fun and informative.
Stay tuned to see the first season!
